Tomislav Donchev from GERB-UDF refused to comment on the caretaker cabinet, proposed earlier on Friday by Prime Minister-designate Dimitar Glavchev, as there are no GERB members within the lineup.
Donchev indicated that he would make an assessment after the mandate of this cabinet is over. He noted that the results of the elections do not depend on the interior minister, but on the qualities and persuasiveness of the politicians who run.
Donchev is expecting fair elections and expressed hope that after the "almost three-year spasm", where all the public energy of the parties went into their mutual destruction and there was no energy left to set the public systems in motion, there would be changes that would bring results for the people.
During the consultations, Temenuzhka Petkova touched upon the topic of the country's public finances. In the last few days, information has come to light that public finances are being spent in particularly large amounts, Petkova pointed out, and noted that this entails significant risks connected to liquidity of the systems, budget deficit, joining the Eurozone. She appealed to the caretaker Prime Minister and Cabinet to pay attention to this topic. Petkova stated that GERB are concerned about the behavior of the outgoing government and the Finance Minister.
