site.btaFirst National Scientific Conference on Environment Takes Place in Sofia

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) will host on Tuesday the First National Scientific Conference on Environment, which will be held in two parallel scientific sessions. The mission of the conference is strengthening collaboration between scientists from different scientific institutions at the national level and encouraging young scientists to actively participate in interdisciplinary research.

The conference will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences; to carry out collaborations between researchers from different fields of applied and experimental meteorology, climatology, hydrology and ecology, in relation to risk assessment and forecasting of natural disasters including - floods, droughts, thunderstorms, cold and heat waves, high winds and air pollution.

In connection with the professional holidays of hydrologists and meteorologists, the NIMH will traditionally organize an Open Day, which this year will be held on March 22, the institute added.
