Outgoing Bulgarian Tourism Minister Zaritsa Dinkova conferred with European Travel Agents' and Tour Operators' Association (ECTAA) President Frank Oostdam, Dinkova's Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.
The meeting apparently took place at the ITB Berlin Travel Trade Show (March 5-7), even though the Ministry did not specify the location and date.
"The Bulgarian tourism industry makes ever heavier investments in competitiveness, sustainability and innovation. This is precisely why we are working on a project to help the industry in its progress to innovation, so that it can be competitive through sustainability," Dinkova pointed out.
Oostdam is strongly impressed by the results that the Black Sea municipalities' publicity programme. "Thank you for your partnership. We must make efforts to do the best for the tourists visiting Bulgaria," he said, adding that ECTAA will assist the development of Bulgarian tourism.
In January 2024, the Bulgarian Tourism Ministry and ECTAA agreed on a collaborative campaign aimed at promoting Bulgaria as an exceptional
travel destination to ECTAA members and beyond. "Bulgaria as ECTAA's Preferred Destination 2024 is an exceptional opportunity for the tourism sector in this country, considering that ECTAA represents the interests of 80,000 travel agents and tour operators," the Ministry said.
