Parents of children killed in traffic accidents gathered for yet another protest in Sofia on Friday. They are demanding quick investigations and effective sentences for those accused of a series of serious accidents.

The protesters blocked part of the traffic around the Palace of Justice for about 15 minutes, causing traffic jams. Public transport also came to a standstill. There is an increased police presence in the area.

Protesters held placards reading "How long will the killers of our children be free?", "How long will you defend the killers of our children?"

The parents demand a meeting with Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov to ask him how long flawed indictments will be brought to court and returned to the prosecutors. The parents explained to journalists that they have already asked for a meeting with Sarafov five times to no effect. They warned that if their demands are not met, protests will be staged across the country on different days of the week and major roads will be closed.

Later in the day, the protesters will meet MPs.
