The operation of the National Telephone Line for Children 116 111 has been transferred entirely to the State Agency for Child Protection (SACP), Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivanka Shalapatova said in an interview for Nova TV on Thursday. Shalapatova said this should improve the function of the hotline, which receives reports and offers advice concerning children.

The Minister said that hotline staff are to undergo training to acquire new competencies.

The National Telephone Line for Children received 25,709 calls in 2023, of which 7,849 were consultations for support, the SACP reported on Monday.
