The Ministry of Innovation and Growth is committed to developing strategic collaborations in high technology both regionally and globally, said on Monday Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva during the first information day of the European Innovation Council in Sofia, held in cooperation with the Bulgarian Ministry of Innovation and Growth.
"The new wave, if you want to call it, of deep technology is already here. Deep technologies have the tremendous opportunity to transform society and provide solutions to global challenges such as climate change, pollution and inequality in societies," Stoycheva said.
The Innovation and Growth Minister also drew particular attention to the fact that Bulgaria is lagging behind in terms of investment in deep tech compared to other European ecosystems of start-ups and, in her words, the European Innovation Council can change this situation.
Despite the challenges Bulgaria faces, the Minister paid tribute to the progress the country has made in the field of high technology in recent years.
The cooperation with the European Innovation Council provides the Bulgarian ecosystem with unique opportunities and access to finance, especially for start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises, Minister Stoycheva said.
