The Council of Ministers adopted at its meeting on Thursday a Report on the implementation of the National Statistical Programme and on the activities of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) in 2023 and the National Statistical Programme for 2024, the press centre of the Cabinet said.

The 2023 report noted that during the year the NSI conducted 283 statistical studies. The report focused on new studies, methodologies and data published for the first time as "Research on Gender-based Violence",  the use of administrative registers to obtain data on kindergartens and schools, as well as house price indices and house sales figures.

The 2024 National Statistical Programme adopted by the Council of Ministers includes a plan for conducting statistical research by the National Statistical Institute and the statistical authorities.

Some important new NSI research in 2024 will include the topics: energy consumption in transport; energy consumption in services; research on the use of plant protection products; monthly collection of declarations from economic operators carrying out activities with excise goods.
