GERB leader Boyko Borissov and British Foreign Minister David Cameron discussed by phone relations between Sofia and London, said Borissov on Facebook.
Borissov and Cameron rallied around the idea that Bulgaria and the UK have always been close partners, particularly in the field of security and Brexit cannot be a reason to deintensify bilateral relations.
The two discussed topics on the European agenda and the challenges before the EU. Borissov said he briefed Cameron of the priorities of the Euro-Atlantic majority in Parliament. Talks were dominated by Bulgaria's full membership of Schengen and the eurozone and Bulgaria's efforts towards the provision of long-term support for Ukraine.
