Hosting a conference entitled "Young People and Bulgaria's Foreign Policy Strategy: the Critical Voice" on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel said that the new Bulgarian generation needs a clear perspective for a peaceful, prosperous, free and democratic Bulgaria, which actively participates in international life and upholds universal common human values. Thus, the elaboration of a foreign policy strategy document is an objective necessity.
University and college students, young delegates to the UN and representatives of youth organizations participated in the conference.
With its new generation, Bulgaria can establish itself as a leader in new technologies and contribute to more stability and security in Southeast Europe, Gabriel said.
According to her, it is a challenge but also a cause for Bulgaria to develop its first ever foreign policy strategy.
Addressing the attendees, Maria Gabriel asked to hear ideas from young people on how Bulgaria can position itself better on the European and international stages, asking them to share their views on the green transition process, digital and cultural diplomacy, relations with Bulgarians abroad, economic diplomacy and how the country will more effectively counter misinformation.
