Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov and Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Belinda Balluku discussed the development of the Pan-European Corridor VII project and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the sector, the Energy Ministry said here on Tuesday. The counterparts agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on energy cooperation at a meeting held in the framework of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku.

Malinov outlined Bulgaria's role as an important regional energy factor. In his words, Bulgaria has already made significant progress in achieving energy security and diversification of energy sources.

The two sides agreed to work together in the process of achieving energy transformation. In this regard, the Bulgarian side will share its experience in the development of renewable energy sources, storage of electricity from renewable sources and energy efficiency. Malinov briefed his counterpart on Bulgaria's progress in the implementation of large-scale renewable energy projects under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
