site.btaTwelve Christmas Babies Born at Sofia's Maichin Dom Maternity Hospital

Twelve babies were born Sofia's Maichin Dom maternity hospital between Christmas Eve and 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the hospital told BTA.

The total number of births there since the beginning of the year is about 3,200, and the exact number for the whole year will be known on December 31, the largest obstetrics and gynaecology hospital in Bulgaria said.

A total of 252 healthy babies were born in November, including four pairs of twins.

In the whole of 2022, 3,372 newborns took their first breath at Maichin Dom. 

The hospital celebrated its 120th anniversary on November 19, 2023.
