site.btaPeople Rally "For" and "Against" Dismantling of Soviet Army Monument
People rallied "for" and "against" the dismantling of the Soviet Army Monument in central Sofia, which started on Tuesday morning. A group of protestors blocked briefly the Eagles Bridge junctions.
There was strong police presence in the area.
The monument is being dismantled after an inspection found it to be a health hazard for passers-by. The authorities said the sculptures will be repaired and moved to a different location.
