The ethnic Bulgarians in the Romanian town of Targoviste celebrated the 172nd anniversary of their borough's foundation on November 30. The celebration began with a religious service and continued with laying of flowers at the monument to the first Bulgarians who settled in this land and at the monument to the Romanian soldiers of Bulgarian origin from the borough.
The programme also included a folklore concert with the participation of ensembles of the organizations of the Bulgarians from Targoviste, which will be held in the Cultural House in the Bulgarian borough. The Bulgarian population of Targoviste is currently some 700 people.
The Bulgarian Ambassador to Romania Radko Vlaykov and the representative of the Bulgarian minority in the Romanian Parliament Georgi Nakov were special guests of the event.
