Bulgaria is represented at the 17th Hangzhou International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo in Hangzhou. The exhibition is hosted by Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, Zhejiang University and China Academy of Art (CAA), Bulgaria’s Consulate General in Shanghai wrote on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
More than 60 countries and regions participate in this year’s Expo. Bulgaria is represented by the Director of the Regional Ethnographic Museum of Plovdiv, Assoc. Prof. Angel Yankov, its curator Ms. Grozdelina Georgieva-Savatinova and Ms. Silviya Georgieva – a member of the Regional Chamber of Crafts in Plovdiv. Traditional Bulgarian arts and crafts, and a photo display on the diversity of Bulgarian folk costumes are exhibited at the HICCI with the assistance of Plovdiv Regional Ethnographic Museum.
Visitors can enjoy the new paintings of Assadour Markarov, the Bulgarian professor at CAA. Video materials and photos provided by the Bulgarian Tourism Ministry draw special attention to the advantages of tourism and rose oil production in Bulgarian lands. Bulgarian cosmetic products containing rose oil are also available at the Expo.
During the official opening ceremony of the HICCI, the Consul General Vladislav Spasov spoke about the bilateral ties and special history between the Bulgarian National Academy of Art and CAA and the creation of the Varbanov Fiber Art Research Centre at CAA in Hangzhou.
