site.btaBulgaria to Cooperate with Intel in AI Field

The Government approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Innovation and Growth of Bulgaria and the US Intel Corporation, the Council of Ministers reported here on Thursday. The Memorandum will support the development of bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Intel in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The document envisages the establishment of partnerships with the government, academia and industry stakeholders through the Intel® Digital Readiness programs. After signing an additional, legally binding agreement, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth and Intel will be able to initiate, implement and execute the Intel® AI for Youth program in Bulgaria, for which they will proactively communicate and create awareness among target audiences, e.g. school children, students, teachers and academic institutions. Intel Corporation will train and certify teachers and mentors from Bulgaria.

The Ministry of Innovation and Growth will provide project management capacity through local implementing bodies, public or private. It will also provide leading speakers from Bulgaria for the initial AI training provided by Intel, who will be leaders of future training models.
