Education Minister to Report on Results of European Projects of His Ministry

Education and Science Minister Galin Tzokov will report on the results of the projects implemented by his Ministry within the framework of the ending programming period of the Science and Education for Smart Growth Operational Programme. He will open at 11:00 a.m. in Plovdiv a forum dedicated to the work of the European projects and the results achieved, the press centre of his Ministry said on Friday.

Along with the report on the invested funds in Bulgarian schools, the students covered and the results for the education system, some good examples of the ending projects will be presented. Among them is the story of a student who managed to continue her education remotely with the resources provided by the Ministry. A high school student in dual training will share how he has made it in his chosen profession. Representatives of the Regional Directorates of Education will talk about their work on projects related to equal access to education, and some of the most successful schools will present best practices and innovative solutions in their activities.

The forum will also be attended by the Deputy Ministers of Education - Natalia Miteva and Marieta Georgieva, heads of Regional Education Departments, principals, teachers and students, Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov, Regional Governor Ilia Zyumbilev, representatives of trade unions and employers' organizations in the field of education, and others.

Later in the day, Tzokov will also visit the Vocational School of Electrical Engineering and Electronics in Plovdiv, which will be one of the centres of excellence. During his visit, he will see the workshops with inventions of students in dual training and their employers. These include a robotic platform for non-invasive blood oxygen and pulse measurement, a colour division system, programming of an assembled bicycle and others. In the school's STEM room, Evgeni Danailov, an IT Olympiad winner, will present his project, and in the chemistry room, students will make a "chemistry cocktail."

During his visit to Plovdiv, Tzokov will award the students of the National Field Hockey Team from Special Olympics Berlin 2023. Nine of them won silver medals at the games.
