Political forces urged for the publishing of State Agency National Security's (SANS) report that led to Central Election Commission's (CEC) decision to suspend machine voting for the October 29 local elections. GERB and Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria Co-Floor Leader Atanas Atanasov called for this measure through posts on their Facebook pages.

In their message GERB called on Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov to publish the report on the website of the Council of Ministers, as the party argued that it does not have a security seal. The report  was sent to the Prime Minister, the President and the  National Assembly Chair, GERB stated. They believe that this will avoid any attempts at political speculation.

"Only after the publication of the SANS report will voters be able to find out on the basis of what data the CEC stopped the machine voting," GERB's post reads.

"As the co-floor leader of the [parliamentary] group Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, I call on the National Assembly Chair, Rossen Zhelyazkov, to publish the report of SANS, which does not have a security seal, so that Bulgarian voters can understand on the basis of what 'data' the CEC banned the machine voting," Atanasov wrote.
