Bulgarian and Turkish researchers are participating jointly in a number of projects under EU’s framework programmes Some 600 Turkish students and 21 post-graduate students are studying at Bulgarian universities. This transpired at a meeting between Education Minister Galin Tzokov and Turkish Ambassador Aylin Sekizkok, said the Education Ministry on Thursday.

In the past years over 700 projects under Erasmus + with Turkish educators, students and pupils. Seventy-seven of these projects are in school education.

Minister Tzokov and Ambassador Sekizkok discussed ways for expand further cooperation between the two countries in the area of science and education.

Ambassador Sekizkok suggested that this cooperation is expanded by means of a new agreement between the two countries. The current cooperation agreement in the field of education, science and culture between Bulgaria and Turkiye dates from 1997.
