President to Confer State Honours on Leading Public and Scientific Figures
President to Confer State Honours on Leading Public and Scientific Figures

President Rumen Radev will award state honours to six Bulgarians for their contributions in various areas of public life, science, and sports on Tuesday, the press office of the head of State said.

The President will award the Order of the Balkan Range, First Class, to Bogdan Nikolov and Iliana Raeva for contributions in the field of sports; to architect Elko Hazan for his patriotism and educational activity regarding the contribution of Bulgaria and its people to the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during the Second World War; to Prof. Rahamin Shekerdzhiyski for contributions in the field of pharmacy in Bulgaria.

President Radev will award the Order of St Cyril and St Methodius, First Class, to Prof. Stefan Hadjitodorov for contributions in the field of science. Vasil Dolapchiev will be awarded the Order of Civil Merit, Second Class, for his contribution to the protection of the human rights and freedoms of people with visual impairments, their social integration and full inclusion in public life.

Prominent figures of culture, education and science received the presidential badge of honour last week, including Boryana Kadmonova, Prof. Vasil Zhechev, Assoc. Prof. Georgi Hinov, Darena Popova, Zlatka Stavreva and Prof. Stoyan Denchev.
