site.btaSofia, Tehran Take Steps towards Mutual Recognition of Driving Licences

The Council of Ministers approved Wednesday a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Interior Ministries of Bulgaria and Iran. The document is the basis for negotiations on mutual recognition and replacement of national driving licences.

The draft Memorandum was proposed by Iran in September 2020.

The draft document provides for a mechanism for the replacement of valid national driving licences of both countries. 

The document is expected to be signed by Ambassador of Bulgaria to Iran Nikolina Kuneva and by Iranian Head of Traffic Police.
