Bulgarian citizen Dragomir Andonov, who was injured during an incident in Skopje, North Macedonia, last week, has been hospitalized at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) in Sofia, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said on its website on Thursday.

Andonov, 29, was stabbed in the abdomen when he and three other Bulgarian football fans were assaulted shortly after 6:30 p.m. on July 27, minutes before the kick-off of a UEFA Europa Conference League match between PFC Levski Sofia and the local FC Shkupi.

The man was flown back home by a Bulgarian State Aviation Operator Mi-8 helicopter. He is in stable condition, out of danger. In Sofia, he was admitted to the MMA intensive care unit, where he will be under constant observation.
