A new programme to support elite youth and junior sport was the central theme of the Monday talks between Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and world-class Bulgarian basketball player Aleksandar Vezenkov and the Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev. The programme’s aim is to help athletes aged between 18 and 23, when the transition between youth and junior sport takes place. This period is crucial so that the good results Bulgarian young athletes achieve can be continued in elite sport, the press service of the Council of Ministers said.
