site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,729 New Cases, 20.4% Test Positivity Rate

December 31 (BTA) - There are 1,729 new coronavirus cases in Bulgaria after 8,475 tests done in 24 hours, according to data posted on the national coronavirus platform on Thursday. The test positivity rate is 20.4 per cent.

This brings the total number of cases to 201,220 since the start of the pandemic in March. The tests done so far total 1,149,545.

The active cases are 75,370. On Wednesday, there were 4,831 patients being treated in hospital, including 467 in intensive care.

The daily recoveries stand at 2,933, bringing the total to 118,335.

The daily death toll is 110, bringing the total to 7,515.

With 714 people vaccinated against COVID-19 on Wednesday, the total number of vaccines given to Bulgarians reached 4,608. RI/DD
