site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 340 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 13.1%

Sofia, January 3 (BTA) - There are 340 new coronavirus cases in
Bulgaria after 2,585 tests were done in 24 hours, according to
data posted on the national coronavirus platform on Sunday. The
test positivity rate is 13.1 per cent.

This brings the total number of cases to 202,880 since March.
The tests done so far total 1,160,292.

The active cases are 73,769. On Saturday, there were 4,786
patients being treated in hospital, including 458 in intensive
care.

The daily recoveries stand at 1,124, bringing the total to
121,467.

The daily death toll is 40, bringing the total to 7,644.
    
A total of 4,739 persons have been vaccinated thus far.

According to information released by the Health Ministry later
on Sunday, the second batch of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines will
arrive in Bulgaria at Sofia Airport on January 4.  Afterwards,
Health Minister Kostadin Angelov and Bulgarian Drug Agency
Executive Director Bogdan Kirilov will give a media briefing.
