site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,002 New Cases In 24 Hours

January 7 (BTA) - In the past 24 hours, 1,002 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed out of 10,088 tests, according to data published on the national coronavirus website on Thursday. The test positivity rate is 9.93 per cent.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 infections to 206,392. Of these 69,642 cases are active.

Some 4,262 patients have been hospitalized, with 379 in intensive care.

In 24 hours, there were 2,032 recoveries, bringing the total number to 128,789.

With 59 fatalities in 24 hours, the total death toll stands at 7,961. RI/PP
