site.btaBulgaria Registers Positivity Rate of 7.6% Over Past 24 Hours

January 9 (BTA) - The Ministry of Health informed on Saturday that over the past 24 hours a total of 753 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Bulgaria out of 9,871 tests, for a positivity rate of 7.63 per cent.

The total number of confirmed cases in Bulgaria since the start of the pandemic reached 208,012 of whom 65,912 are active.

With 61 new fatalities to coronavirus and related complications over the past 24 hours, Bulgaria's death toll now stands at 8,078.

The number of recoveries rose by 3,831 since yesterday, which was over five times more than the newly confirmed cases. So far a total of 134,022 people have successfully recovered from the infection.

Hospitals are currently treating 4,186 people of whom 380 are in intensive care.

With 2,238 vaccinations in Bulgaria since yesterday, their number reached 13,355.
