January 11 (BTA) - The share of teachers in educational institutions who have expressed a desire to be vaccinated at this stage against COVID-19 is 21 per cent, said the Health Ministry press centre after a meeting between Health Minister Kostadin Angelov, Education and Science Minister Krassimir Valchev and members of the national coronavirus task force on Monday.

The registration of those wishing to be vaccinated is still ongoing. The non-pedagogical staff in the educational institutions will also be vaccinated as a priority.

Discussions at the Monday meeting were focused mainly on the anti-epidemic measures in schools and the forthcoming vaccination campaign for teachers and non-teaching staff. The analysis of the anti-epidemic measures is ongoing and it is still too early to make final decisions, the press service said.

The State will pay medical professionals 10 leva per dose of the COVID-19 vaccine applied, the Health Ministry also reported following a meeting of Minister Angelov with his deputies Poyko Penkov and Zheni Nacheva and the leadership of the Bulgarian Medical Association.

The money will come from the state budget and will be paid to GPs and to medics at diagnostic and consultation centres, medical-treament facilities, vaccination centres, and regional health inspectorates after the vaccination is entered in an electronic register.
