COVID-19 Update: 552 New Cases and

Sofia, January 16 (BTA) - There were 551 new coronavirus cases in Bulgaria after 8,850 tests done in the 24 hours until Friday night, according to the national coronavirus information platform. This makes a test positivity rate of 6 per cent.

The total number of cases since the start of the padmemic is now 211,503, including 47,016 active cases.

The new daily figures show 61 deaths, bringing the death toll of the pandemic in Bulgaria to 8,457.

A total of 3,500 patients are in hospital - which is fewer than the day before - including 343 in intensive care.

The new recoveries stand at 5,660, bringing the total number to 156,030.

Bulgaria has so far done 1,263,825 tests.

The new metrics has 452 new vaccinations, bringing the total number to 18,126. LN/
