January 22 (BTA) - Health Minister Kostadin Angelov Friday issued an order lifting the ban on the export of medical oxygen, the Health Ministry reported. The ban was introduced in mid-December 2020 due to the large number of hospitalized patients in need of oxygen treatment.

In December, 452 oxygen concentrators were purchased for hospitals to prevent a shortage, and at the same time the suppliers of medical oxygen increased the number of oxygen bottles delivered.

Since the start of 2021, the number of patients in need of intensive care requiring oxygen has dropped, and the Health Ministry has not received alerts about problems with oxygen deliveries.
