site.bta5,733 Tests Confirm 493 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 223,552

Sofia, February 7 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
 in Bulgaria reached 223,552 after 5,733 PCR and antigen tests
identified 493 new infections in the 24 hours until Sunday
midnight (417 fewer than on Saturday, according to data posted
on www.coronavirus.bg. The test positivity rate now stands at
8.6 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 119 positive
tests, followed by Bourgas Region with 67 and Kyustendil Region
with 35.

The active cases are 21,050. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 3,133, including 281 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 9,660, with 12 new cases
 detected since Saturday.

Another 161 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 193,191.

Nine fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to
 9,660.

With 156 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 57,016 persons
 in aggregate have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, of
whom 17,392 have received both doses. NV/LG
