site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,070 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 9%

Sofia, February 12 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 228,044 after 11,816 tests identified
1,070 new infections on Thursday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
9 per cent.

Sofia Region tops the list with 258 new cases, followed by the
regions of Bourgas with 110 cases and Plovdiv with 93.

The active cases are 22,801. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 3,297, including 293 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 9,792, twenty-eight more
 than on Wednesday.

Another 471 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 195,682.

Thirty-four fatalities were reported, and the death toll now
adds up to 9,561.

With 4,960 new inoculations on Thursday, 71,123 persons in
aggregate have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. NV/DD
