COVID-19 Update: Increase in New Infections
and Fewer Deaths in
Bulgaria


Sofia, February 20 (BTA) - The daily coronavirus metrics in Bulgaria for Friday shows an increase in new infections and fewer deaths. A total of 13,303 tests identified 1,463 new infections, which was 377 more than a day earlier, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/ on Saturday.

The test positivity rate now stands at close to 11 per cent.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 235,891.

A total of 35 fatalities were reported for Friday against 42 the day before. The death toll now adds up to 9,821.

The active cases are 26,092. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 3,775, including 316 in intensive care.

Another 346 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 199,978.

With 13,754 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 104,268 persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. LN///
