February 25 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 242,124 after 12,066 tests identified 1,733 new infections on Wednesday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/ on Thursday. The test positivity rate now stands at 14.36 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 464 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 139 cases and Bourgas Region with 94.

The active cases are 30,093. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 4,202, including 369 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 10,100 since the start of the epidemic.

Another 505 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 202,005.

Forty-eight fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 10,026.

With 20,236 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 168,462 persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, of whom 32,008 have received both doses.
