site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,079 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 12.7%

Sofia, February 28 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 246,706 after 8,476 tests identified 1,079 new infections on Saturday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate stands at 12.7 per cent.

The capital Sofia tops the list of new cases with 322 positive tests, followed by Burgas with 148 cases and Plovdiv with 70.

The active cases are 31,402. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 4,674, including 380 in intensive care.

Another 1,643 COVID-19 patients recovered on Saturday, bringing the total to 205,137.

Thirty-nine fatalities were reported and the death toll now adds up to 10,167.

With 5,321 more inoculations on Saturday, 209,760 persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, of whom 37,367 have received both doses. DD
