site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 2,403 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 16.5%

Sofia, March 3 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in
 Bulgaria reached 252,029 after 14,563 tests identified 2,403
new infections on Tuesday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
16.5 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 737 positive
tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 187 cases and Pleven
Region with 129.

The active cases are 33,227. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 5,009, including 423 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 10,294, with 50 new
cases detected since Monday.

Another 1,781 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 208,411.

Eighty-three fatalities were reported, and the death toll now
adds up to 10,391.

With 20,233 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 243,773
persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 41,525 have received both doses. NV/LG
