Sofia, March 10 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 266,805 after 17,193 tests identified 3,502 new infections on Tuesday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 20.4% per cent.

A total of 1,778,810 tests have been performed in this country since the first infections were diagnosed on March 8, 2020.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 882 positive tests, followed by Bourgas Region with 441 cases and Varna Region with 272.

The active cases are 38,385. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 6,017, including 497 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 10,582.

Another 3,403 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 217,518.

One hundred and thirty-eight fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 10,902.

With 8,019 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 302,151 persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, of whom 51,644 have received both doses. LG
