site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 983 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 24%

March 29 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 328,753, after 4,094 tests identified 983 new infections on Sunday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 24 per cent.

Sofia City tops the list of new cases with 318 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 91 cases and Bourgas Region with 89.

The active cases are 66,682. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 9,839, including 773 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 11,703.

Another 457 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 249,361.

Sixty fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 12,710.

With 2,383 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 436,541 persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, of whom 88,214 have received both doses. RI/PP
