Turkey Lowers to
16 Age for Receiving
COVID Jab

Ankara, July 12 (BTA) - Turkey has lowered to 16 the minimum age at which citizens can get inoculated against COVID-19, Hurriyet Daily News reported. The electronic vaccination registration system is now open to those aged 16 and up.

Turkey launched its vaccination campaign in mid-January starting from health workers and older persons before gradually reducing the age for immunization against the coronavirus.

A total of 37.7 million people have already received one jab and 17.1 million, two jabs, and the administering of third doses began recently. According to the Health Ministry's data, 61 per cent of citizens aged over 18 have received one dose and 27 per cent, two doses.
