site.btaIvailo Denchev Appointed Acting Chief of Road Infrastructure Agency a Week after Being Removed from Board

July 28 (BTA) - Ivailo Denchev was appointed acting
Chairman of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure
Agency (RIA) by order of caretaker Regional Development and
Public Works Minister Violeta Komitova, dated July 26,
Komitova's ministry reported on Wednesday. Denchev will head the
 Board until a permanent holder of the office is appointed.

Denchev was one of three new RIA Management Board members
appointed by Komitova two months ago. On July 20, he was
dismissed from the Board, also by order of Komitova.

Now, he is replacing Apostol Minchev as Management Board
Chairman on an interim basis. Minchev had been appointed to the
post by Komitova in late May but then she dismissed him on July
20 along with Denchev. The reason for Minchev's removal was that
 he had decided single-handedly to halt all road rehabilitation
works being implemented by RIA. He sent out a letter to
discontinue all such works and remove equipment until further
