August 6 (BTA) - At a briefing in parliament on Friday, Prime Minister-nominee Plamen Nikolov (pictured)  from There Is Such a People (TISP) said that the party's candidate for justice minister, Momchil Ivanov, has decided to withdraw from the position due to personal reasons.

Momchil Ivanov is a lawyer, born on February 14, 1976 in Vidin (on the Danube) and was a TISP MP in the 45th National Assembly.

According to Nikolov, attacks against Ivanov in the media ''could not allow him to continue on with dignity''. Nikolov noted that the new justice minister nominee will be announced very soon.

The chairman of the TISP parliamentary group, Toshko Yordanov, commented on published chat receipts between Ivanov in his capacity as a teacher and his female student. Yordanov explained that the girl in question made a statement that the receipts were not accurate, but that no one had reported it. RI/DT
