Deputy PM Kuneva to Attend White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism


Sofia, February 17 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister in charge of
coordination of European policies and institutional affairs
Meglena Kuneva will attend the the White House Summit on
Countering Violent Extremism on February 18 and 19 in
Washington, DC.

The aim of the summit is to bring closer the positions of the
countries of the EU, the Balkans, the Middle East, Asia and
North America about growing radicalization and ways to
counteract it. Representatives of 79 states and international
organizations are invited to the forum.

The final date of the summit was announced in January, not long
after an attack against a satirical newspaper and a Jewish deli
in Paris brought renewed attention to the threat of terror.
