Bulgarian Grand Horo in Central Brussels

Sofia, April 17 (BTA) - For a third year in a row, everybody is
invited to join the traditional Bulgarian Grand Horo dance in
the Grote Markt/Grand-Place in Brussels at noon on April 25,
said the European Commission representation in Sofia. The event
is prepared under the patronage of European Commission
Vice-President Kristalina Georgieva and as part of this year's
edition of the Balkan Trafik! Festival.

The professional dancers of the Botevgrad ensemble will lead the
horo, accompanied by ensemble DillereDestan of Turkey,
Lunxheria and Vatra of Albania. Bulgarians from amateur dance
schools in the Benelux countries, and many friends who love
dancing will join them.

To warm up the audience, the professional danders will perform
signature dances of various ethnographic regions of Bulgaria
under the music of traditional music instruments: the kaval, the
bagpipe, the drum and the acordeon. After the warming-up, EC
Vice President Kristalina Georgieva will take the lead of the
Giant Horo.

The purpose of the Giant Horo is to show the cultural richness
and diversity of Bulgaria to people in Brussels.

This will be the ninth edition of the Balkan Traffiк!festival.
The star of the festival this time is Serbian music legend Goran
Gregovic. The Bulgarian participant in the event is the
ethno-fusion bandа Oratnitsa.
