Free Books to Conquer City
Spaces in Bulgaria for
World Book and Copyright Day

Sofia, April 20 (BTA) - "Free" books are going to conquer city
spaces in Bulgaria for the World Book and Copyright Day on April
23. An initiative for "releasing books to freedom" will be held
in Bulgaria for the second year running. The event is organized
by the web site AzCheta.com and the Bulgarian Bookcrossing
Community.

Books will be left or "released to freedom" in public spaces in
cities to be found and read by people.

This year's initiative also includes a competition for
children's drawings entitled, "Books Wanderers", where children
from grades 1 to 4 are to show how free books roam the world in
search of new readers.

Invited to join the campaign are publishing houses, civic
organizations, cultural centre, companies and all book lovers.
What they need to do is register all books they want to release
in the website www.bookcrossing.com, print out the BCID label,
attach it to the book and release the book on April 23.

The BookCrossing idea began in March 2001 in the United States.
