President Plevneliev Meets with Bulgarian Service Members at KFOR Headquarters

Pristina, April 22 (BTA Special Correspondent Asen Boyadzhiev) -
President Rosen Plevneliev Wednesday visited the headquarters
of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) at the Film City Camp, where he was
welcomed with a ceremony, and talked with the KFOR Commander,
Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.

Plevneliev, whose visit to Kosovo ends on Wednesday, met with
Bulgarian service members from the KFOR staff and thanked them
for what they are doing.

In his words, Bulgaria there is a big factor and the State with
one of the best reputations. "Our good name, our friendship with
Kosovo opens many doors and creates prospects," he said. "You
write history, and the Bulgarian State is part of the Balkans'
new history where, unlike in the past when we fought many
battles, today we believe in and work for peaceful and
prosperous Balkans," Plevneliev noted.

The head of State also told the Bulgarian service members that
their work is highly appraised by Kosovo's President, the
Assembly Speaker and the KFOR Commander, but that the most
important assessment for their work comes not from Bulgaria's or
Kosovo's President, but from the people of Kosovo who treat
them and their work with huge trust and respect. Plevneliev
added that the same applies to the dozens of other Bulgarians
working in local institutions.

Major General Figliuolo told Plevneliev that KFOR cannot work
without the Bulgarians. There are problems but not such which
cannot be solved at the local level, the Bulgarian service
members said during the meeting.

There are currently ten Bulgarian service members participating
in KFOR.

Earlier on Wednesday, Plevneliev met with Bulgarian
representatives in international organizations in Kosovo.

The Bulgarian head of State will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina
next.
