Bulgaria Applies for Assistance from EU Solidarity Fund for  January 30-February 4 Disasters

Sofia, April 25 (BTA) - In relation to the natural disasters on
Bulgarian territory in the period from January 30 to February 4,
2015, Bulgaria has submitted an application for assistance from
the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF), the Regional
Development and Public Works Ministry said in a press release
Friday.

The application will be assessed and then the European
Commission will take a decision on the assistance's
admissibility and amount, the press release reads.

As a EU Member State, Bulgaria has the right to receive a grant
from the EUSF aimed at overcoming the consequences of natural
disasters. Two applications have been submitted and approved
thus far: for the floodings in mid-June 2014 and in late July
2014.
