Bulgarian Ambassador to Turkey Invited to Meeting about Parliament's Resolution Recognizing Mass
Extermination of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire

Sofia, April 26 (BTA) - Bulgaria's Ambassador to Ankara Krasimir
Tulechki was invited to a meeting at the Turkish Foreign
Ministry on Saturday in connection with Parliament's resolution
recognizing the mass extermination of Armenians in the Ottoman
Empire in 1915-1922, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said.

The Turkish side put forward its views on the events which led
to the resolution of the Bulgarian Parliament, as well as on the
manner and consequences of its adoption.

For his part, Ambassador Tulechki clarified the nature and
meaning of the resolution adopted by a large majority of the
MPs, as well as the fact that it is not directed against the
Republic of Turkey. Bulgaria emphasizes its willingness to
develop bilateral relations on an equal basis in all areas of
shared interest, and will work consistently towards this goal,
the Foreign Ministry said.
