Consultative Council on National Security to Discuss Development of Bulgarian Armed Forces

Sofia, April 27 (BTA) - The Consultative Council on National
Security is meeting Monday under President Rosen Plevneliev to
look at the shape of the Bulgarian Armed Forces in the context
of the current security environment.

Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev is expected to present a report
and put forward proposals for development of the armed forces.

The Council includes the Prime Minister, the Ministers of
Defence, of Foreign Affairs, of the Interior and of Finance, the
head of the State Agency for National Security and a
representative from each parliamentary force.

In addition to the Council members, the meeting will also be
attended by Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva, National
Intelligence Service Director Maj. Gen. Dragomir Dimitrov and
acting Defence Information Service Director Col. Svetoslav
Daskalov.
