Court Freezes Hristo Bisserov's
Assets Worth
Lv 1.2 Mln

Sofia, April 27 (BTA) - Acting on a request of the Commission
for Forfeiture of Unlawfully Acquired Assets, the Sofia City
Court froze assets worth 1,262,483 leva of Hristo Bisserov,
former MP and member of the leadership of the Movement for
Rights and Freedoms, the Commission said on Monday.

The Commission launched a probe after pre-trial proceedings for
tax fraud and money laundering were launched against Bisserov
and his stepson Ivailo Glavinkov in November 2013. Seven
European countries, including Macedonia and Switzerland, were
asked for information during the probe.

Bisserov's attached assets include a property in Sofia, a car
and nine bank accounts. The attachment order also includes a
loan Bisserov's wife Maria gave her son Ivailo Glavinkov, the
proceeds from a car sale, and money the spouses put into two
accounts and the interest paid on it.

Ivailo Glavinkov's frozen assets are worth 293,400 leva and
comprise a flat in Sofia, a holiday home 75 km from the capital,
shares in five companies and nine bank accounts. The attachment
order also applies to the lev equivalent of shares and units,
proceeds from the sale of stakes and property, money that
Glavinkov contributed to two companies, and cash-in hand in one
company. The court also claims money Glavinkov lent to natural
and juristic persons as well as money he repaid on loans to
natural and juristic persons.

The Commission for Forfeiture of Unlawfully Acquired Assets
claims 314,529 US dollars and 117,192 euro, which Bisserov
transferred from his Swiss accounts to Glavinkov's account in
Macedonia. These sums are subject to the criminal proceedings
against the two. LN/DD
