PM Borissov, HP Bulgaria General Manager Iravan Hira Unveil Technology Lab in Sofia

Sofia, April 29 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Iravan
Hira, General Manager of Hewlett-Packard Bulgaria, unveiled an
HP Technology Lab in Sofia on Wednesday. The opening was
attended by Transport, IT and Communications Minister Ivaylo
Moskovski and US Ambassador Marcie Ries.

Hira said this is HP's largest investment of its kind in Europe.
The lab gives Bulgarian secondary school and university
students access to the world's latest technology and a chance to
develop as specialists. It took more than two years and over 10
 million leva to build.

The HP Technology Lab is designed to simulate technological and
business processes and to hone the skills of the company's
specialists in Bulgaria.

Since 2006, HP has hired more than 6,000 people in Sofia, many
of them young people who studied abroad and returned to work in
Bulgaria, said Hira. There are 1,500 Bulgarians who returned
from other countries at the HP offices alone, and 4,000 such
specialists at Sofia's Business Park, Borissov said in his
address.

Borissov also said the US and the HP management had chosen the
best possible place for investing in Europe.
