Jordan to Recognize Bulgarian Seafarers' Training, Licences
Aman/Sofia, May 7 (BTA) - Bulgarian seafarers' training and
licences will be recognized in Jordan after Minister of
Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo
Moskovski and Jordanian Transport Minister Lina Shbeeb signed
reciprocal bilateral agreements in Aman, Moskovski's Ministry
reported in a Thursday press release.
The agreements also provide for the recognition of training and
licensing of Jordanian seafarers required to work onboard
Bulgarian-registered ships. The agreements regulate the
standards for competence, issuing, approval, re-approval and
repealing of licences. The registrations of licences and
standards for medical examination of seafarers have also been
settled.
During his visit Moskovski held a bilateral meeting with
Jordan's Minister of Communications and information Technology,
Majd Shweikeh, with whom he discussed the future signing of a
memorandum of cooperation in the field of information technology
and communications. The meeting also focused on cooperation
between the two countries through sharing of experience and
information on the development of electronic communication
technologies and information society, information and network
security and e-government.
